Always rinse thoroughly with clean water after use — sodium metasilicate leaves an alkaline residue if not fully rinsed, which can affect downstream processes and sanitiser efficacy.
For routine cleaning between batches, a 1% solution is typically sufficient. For periodic deep cleaning or heavily fouled equipment, step up to 2%.

Good to Know
Sodium metasilicate should not be used on aluminium surfaces — it reacts aggressively with aluminium and will cause corrosion and pitting. It is safe for stainless steel, glass, and most plastics when used at recommended concentrations and contact times.
