Reach the bottom of every homebrew bottle, fermenter, or carboy with ease. Long enough to tackle even your biggest containers — because a proper clean means better tasting brew.

Long Bristle Bottle Brush 90cm — Deep Clean for Home Brew Bottles & Demijohns

At 90cm long, this bristle bottle brush is purpose-built for the cleaning jobs that shorter brushes simply can't reach. It's the go-to tool for home brewers scrubbing the base of tall PET bottles, glass longnecks, wine demijohns, and carboys where residue, yeast sediment, and dried wort collect after each batch.

A standard kitchen bottle brush tops out around 30–40cm — useful for glasses, but useless for a 750mL longneck or a 5L demijohn. This brush has the reach to do the job properly.

What It's Built For

The 90cm length is specifically suited to the tall, narrow vessels common in home brewing and winemaking. It reaches the base of full-height bottles and demijohns without requiring awkward angles or multiple passes. The bristles are firm enough to dislodge dried residue and yeast sediment, but won't scratch glass or PET surfaces.

Ideal For

  • PET home brew bottles (1.25L, 2L, and 2.25L)
  • Glass 750mL and 1.125L beer and spirit bottles
  • Wine demijohns and carboys
  • Tall glass fermenters and vessels
  • Any narrow-necked vessel where a standard brush won't reach the base

Key Features

  • 90cm total length — reaches the base of full-height bottles and demijohns
  • Durable nylon bristles — firm enough to remove sediment, gentle on glass and PET
  • Flexible handle — manoeuvres easily inside narrow-necked vessels
  • Hanging loop for easy storage and drying between uses

How to Use

For light cleaning between batches, use with warm water and a small amount of PBW or brewing detergent. Insert the brush fully into the base of the bottle, scrub in a circular motion to loosen residue, then rinse thoroughly. Always follow with a no-rinse sanitiser such as Handcraft Supplies before refilling.

Good to Know

This brush handles physical scrubbing — it's a mechanical cleaning tool, not a replacement for a proper chemical clean. For bottles with heavy staining or dried-on residue, a PBW soak or Pink Stain Remover solution first will make brushing significantly easier and more effective.

For demijohns and carboys with a wider body and angled neck, also see our Demijohn Brush with Bend 70cm — its 90-degree bend is specifically shaped for cleaning the shoulder of a demijohn.
